The cultural icon recently inked a deal with The Billion dollar baseball team to co-brand several pieces of merchandise. The limited edition hats, hoodies and t-shirts will be available from now until September 14th which is the date of the concert that he and Eminem will headline.

Yes indeed, bloggers have now turned what was once a platform to share your ideas and thoughts to a full fledged multi-million dollar business. Some blogs boast readerships of over 1 million and advertisers have taken notice. The beauty of blogs are that they are non-conventional and that proves to be advantageous and lucrative for businesses trying to expand business and reach a more widespread audience.

And the saga continues. Unless you have been sleeping under a rock, I’m quite sure you have heard about longtime radio host Dr. Laura Schlessinger and her national on air N-word rant. I mean really, what’s good with all of these mad-rapper style “tell em why you mad son” N-word sessions. To be quite honest I’m over the N-word , so upon hearing foolishness like this, I quickly place the individual in the “crazies” box and keep it moving.

If you haven’t already heard we here at Smugger will let you in on a little secret. The new Miami Vice, fun-in-the sun , LeBron James will grace the cover of the September Fall Fashion edition of GQ. The one good thing that has come out of the whole LeBron James fiasco is a lot of good journalism. It was refreshing to see journalists force to analyze a situation that was not so cut and dry. LeBron-mania was a true journalist’s dream, and GQ went in.

Sure, the social networking monstrosity that is Facebook invades almost every fabric of our online lives. It’s like our own little personal reality show. People watch us from a far and we watch them back via news feeds, photos, videos, walls posts, personal notes, and status updates. Hell, sometimes I’ll ask for a girl’s Facebook page before I ask for her number. It’s gotten that bad. But as much as Facebook is burned into our actual realities and as much as we doodle hours of our personal lives entertaining ourselves by clicking thorough somebody else’s life would we want to see a movie about the guy responsible giving us Facebook and all the drama behind it?
