Recently a buddy of mine posed a question on social media regarding Beyonce being the hottest chick in the game. Additionally, he stated that if anyone objected to this assertion, they should essentially “speak now of forever hold their peace”. While scaling through his Facebook wall, the objections were proverbial–Halle Berry, Nia Long, and Sanaa Lathan. I had to admit I was disappointed in my generation. Not because these aforementioned women were not beautiful, but because I feel like my generation was being lazy when it came to identifying our own classics. Surely it wasn’t for a lack of beauty and talent, rather, I submit that it was pure laziness and inability to begin to carve out our own version of beauty.
